About the role
Please note this position is a fixed-term contract for 12 months.
As Alumni & Philanthropy Social Media Officer, you'll be a key member of the Advancement Communications and Engagement team, responsible for producing engaging, targeted content across a range of social media platforms. You’ll help us tell compelling stories about UCL’s impact, celebrate our alumni community, and support our philanthropic goals.
You’ll lead the day-to-day management of Advancement-owned social media channels (currently Instagram, Facebook and X, with scope to change), and collaborate with colleagues across UCL to contribute content to centrally and faculty-owned platforms, including LinkedIn, TikTok, WeChat and Weibo.
This role offers the opportunity to shape our social media strategy, increase user-generated content, and demonstrate the value of digital engagement in achieving UCL’s advancement objectives.
We're happy to consider applications to work on a part-time, flexible and job share basis wherever possible (minimum 0.8 FTE – equivalent of 4 days per week, stated salary to be pro-rata).
This role is eligible for hybrid working with a minimum of 20%on site. Please note Tuesdays are our in-office day for all Advancement members and you will also be expected to be on campus or at attend UCL activities in addition to this, as required to fulfil the needs of the role.

About you
You’ll bring proven experience of managing social media channels for business, creating impactful content, and using creative tools such as Adobe Creative Suite. You’ll be confident working in a fast-paced environment, with excellent organisational skills and a collaborative approach.
You’ll be passionate about digital storytelling, with a strong understanding of current social media trends and a commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion. Experience in alumni engagement or fundraising is desirable but not essential.
