Description
The Executive Director for Advancement & Alumni Relations is responsible for the administrative unit which has within its organizational structure the following areas: Alumni Relations, Foundation, and Development. Directors of these areas, as well as the Scholarship Coordinator are supervised by the Executive Director. The Executive Director will also be appointed as the Executive Officer of the Foundation.
This position reports directly to the President. As Executive Officer of the Foundation, this position serves as the principal liaison between WIU Foundation Board of Directors and the University Administration.
APPOINTMENT: December 2025
RANK & SALARY: $100,000 - $140,000 per year. Negotiable, commensurate with experience.

Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree is required; an earned master's degree from an accredited institution is preferred.
- Minimum of three years of senior administrative experience as an advancement, foundation, and/or alumni relations professional.
- Demonstrated record of leadership and accomplishments in advancement with a proven track record of fundraising/gift success, campaign planning and major gift solicitations from individuals and organizations.
- Comprehensive knowledge of strategies employed in all major development and alumni functions. Proven leadership skills and ability to work with diverse individuals and groups.
For a degree to be considered, it must be conferred from a regionally accredited degree-granting institution of higher education (or equivalent from an international accrediting body). Unless otherwise stated, the degree must be conferred at the time of appointment.
