Description
The University of Maine Foundation is seeking two Philanthropy Officers to cultivate meaningful relationships with alumni and friends, inspiring annual, major, and planned gifts for the University of Maine. In this role, the officers will partner with university leaders to advance institutional priorities while creating a rewarding and impactful experience for donors. By aligning donor aspirations with university goals, they will help turn philanthropic visions into lasting legacies.
The successful candidates will:
- Manage a portfolio of 125–150 annual and major gift prospects.
- Complete a minimum of 120 face-to-face visits annually, documenting activities, strategies, results, and next steps in the database management system.
- Provide consistent, donor-centered cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship for alumni/ae and friends with a variety of professional and personal backgrounds.
- Work closely with university and foundation staff to ensure full integration, engagement, and coordination with all fundraising initiatives.
- Assist in planning and implementing campaign-related fundraising initiatives.
Requirements
A bachelor's degree is required.
3-5 years of relevant fundraising/sales experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated success in soliciting gifts or closing sales of $50,000 and above.
Proficient with Office 365 (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Google (Gmail and Workspace) tools, Adobe, Zoom, and database systems.
Experience in a higher education or non-profit environment is preferred.
