Are you seeking a new challenge where your superpowers in strategy and communications will shine? Dartmouth Advancement is searching for a development writer to join our Donor Engagement team in a role where you will be at the heart of cultivation and solicitation of prospects in work that contributes to Dartmouth’s fundraising success. This is a special opportunity to help us further our communication and engagement strategies, and you will research gift opportunities, prepare gift proposals and gift agreements, develop prospect briefings, and be a key partner in the development and implementation of communication and engagement strategies that complement the stewardship of donor gifts. Your official title will be Donor Relations Officer, which represents the important work you will be sharing with gift officers as the team achieves success in fundraising to support Dartmouth’s mission and initiatives. A key player on our mighty development team, you’ll work side-by-side with fundraisers, develop compelling fundraising collateral, and help develop smart strategies that bring our prospects to a yes.

As our new partner, here’s what we hope you will bring to our work:
- A bachelor’s degree and at least three years of experience in fundraising (or related field such as marketing, communications, research, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Experience and top-notch skills in writing, editing, and proofreading with a keen eye for detail.
- Proven project management expertise and the ability to juggle (and organize!) multiple priorities like a pro.
- Thoughtful and effective communication skills with a knack for using sound judgment to get results.
- A creative and entrepreneurial spirit and a collaborative approach to our work.

Our technology toolkit currently includes Microsoft Office, Advance, Slack, and Jira. Through a full onboarding plan created specifically for you in your new role, we will provide training in Advance, Slack and Jira if you join us without prior experience in these software applications. We do ask that you do join us with a strong understanding of components of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel), as the ability to work with information, data sets, reporting, create presentations, and manage various projects will complement team workflows.
A fully remote option with location flexibility is available for those that reside in most areas of the United States. This position can also offer a hybrid option (the best of both worlds!) and the opportunity to experience the energy of Dartmouth’s campus in Hanover, NH. The choice is yours.
