Dartmouth seeks a dynamic and seasoned philanthropy leader to serve as Executive Director of Regional Advancement for the Eastern Region. Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Development, this senior role carries significant autonomy and is responsible for leading Dartmouth's largest geographic region with a sophisticated, integrated fundraising presence. The Executive Director personally manages a portfolio of 10–20 principal gift prospects, executing direct solicitations at the $500,000+ level in partnership with senior officers and trustees, while leading and developing a team of regional fundraisers to secure gifts of $100,000+ averaging approximately $25M–$35M a year in restricted gifts and $10M–$15M in Annual Fund gifts. The Executive Director also develops and executes a comprehensive regional philanthropy strategy — coordinating annual, leadership, and principal gift efforts across Presidential Initiatives, Principal Gifts, the Dartmouth College Fund, Gift Planning, Marketing & Engagement, and the professional schools — while setting team performance goals and fostering a collaborative, donor-centered culture.

Strong leadership of high-performing frontline fundraisers, exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, and comfort with CRM systems are required. The ability to work autonomously, exercise sound judgment on confidential matters, and travel significantly within the Eastern region are essential. A valid U.S. or Canadian driver’s license is required.
