The University of Arkansas – Fort Smith is located in the beautiful River Valley of Western Arkansas, nestled between the scenic Ozark and Ouachita Mountains, which offer plentiful opportunities for outdoor activity. Fort Smith, the second largest city in Arkansas, is also within easy driving distance of Tulsa, Kansas City, Dallas, Little Rock, and Memphis. UAFS is a comprehensive four-year university focused on preparing students to succeed in the global marketplace and on advancing economic development and quality of place. The university has recently launched a five-year strategic plan that includes the vision to be a premier regional university connecting education with careers. The UAFS Foundation is reaching the culmination of a comprehensive campaign, the second in institutional history. The Foundation provides a 60 million dollar endowment that supports the university. One of 13 campuses that comprise the University of Arkansas system, UAFS is the 6th largest university in Arkansas, with a fall enrollment of over 7,500 students. Within the past decade, UAFS’s full time equivalent enrollment has doubled.
