POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Associate Director of Alumni Engagement, in coordination with the Director of Alumni Relations and the Associate Vice President for Institutional Advancement Operations, organizes and coordinates engagement programs and services designed to foster and strengthen the relationship between Seton Hill and the University’s alumni and the community-at-large. The Associate Director initiates contacts with alumni, friends and community leaders and implements strategies to cultivate and maintain relationships while using technology, social media and the University’s alumni website to communicate effectively and manage information.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
- Assist in the planning and implementation of national and regional alumni events involving the Seton Hill University President; participate in the planning, implementation and evaluation of other alumni events*(in-person and virtual) throughout the year including Alumni College events, Alumni Weekend, Homecoming and Family Weekend, and Christmas on the Hill; and, coordinate and support alumni meetings.
- In collaboration with the Associate Vice President of Institutional Advancement, manage a special gift prospect portfolio and support philanthropic efforts for Reunion Giving and the Founders’ Society, primarily for donors up to $5,000, including identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of prospective, current and lapsed donors.
Support Reunion Giving efforts by assisting in the recruitment of Reunion Chairs and managing the coordination of anniversary year mailings. - In coordination with the Associate Vice President of Institutional Advancement, coordinate design and content for Annual Fund materials and digital/social media posts.
Collaborate with the Advancement team in the management of the Doug Wood Golf Classic; lead overall operations in preparation of and on the day of the event.
Manage the Career Connections Program including the LinkedIn component of the Program; identify and recruit alumni volunteers and student participants; collaborate with the Career and Professional Development Center to ensure the Program’s success. - Manage the Student Ambassador Program, including the recruitment and training of student leaders.
Coordinate and develop content on Almabase for events, registration, and associated content related to the work of Alumni Relations.
Coordinate and manage the collection and publication of Alumni Class News with the Associate Vice President for Communications and Media Relations and Alumni Class News Agents. - Assist in the identification of affinity groups to support engagement with Seton Hill. Serve as a liaison to these groups
- Support the Distinguished Alumni Awards Program, including the nomination/selection process, communication to recipients, video production, and program details.
- Manage and coordinate constituent records, maintain event registration and attendance details and perform other functions as needed in the Raiser’s Edge database. Inform Institutional Advancement staff of important constituent updates, especially those responsible for prospect research.
- Travel occasionally and work evening and/or weekend hours as necessary according to the alumni events and Presidential events schedule

Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Bachelor’s degree is required.
- Strong written and oral communication skills are required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of two to three years of related work experience in event management, volunteer management, fundraising, or marketing is preferred along with project management experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and fundraising database systems (Blackbaud NXT/RaisersEdge) as well as with social media is preferred.
