Description
The University of Texas at Arlington
Executive Director for Academic Unit Development
Bryant Group is proud to partner with the University of Texas at Arlington in the search for a strategic and experienced Executive Director for Academic Unit Development (EDAUD). This senior leader will build and lead a high-performing team of gift officers to significantly grow fundraising capacity across academic units in alignment with UTA's first comprehensive fundraising campaign.
Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Development & Principal Gifts, the Executive Director will empower the unit development team to create and implement fundraising and alumni relations strategies that engage unit constituents in concert with university-wide priorities. This leader will integrate collaboration across all advancement functions — including principal and major giving, annual giving, corporate and foundation relations, planned giving, donor relations and alumni engagement. The EDAUD will also manage a select portfolio of high-level prospects, personally cultivating, soliciting and stewarding major donors in support of UTA's strategic goals.
The ideal candidate brings a bachelor's degree and at least eight years of progressively responsible frontline major gift fundraising experience, preferably in higher education, with demonstrated success managing teams and leading in metrics-based fundraising programs. They will have personal success in identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding major gift prospects — including six- and seven-figure gifts — and experience with capital or comprehensive campaigns. This leader combines excellent strategic, analytical and interpersonal skills with the intellectual depth and maturity to build trust with academic leadership, key volunteers and top donor prospects in a highly complex research institution.
